Yoani Sanchez

This morning I got my highly anticipated TIME magazine in the mail. It is the 5th year anniversary of the TIME 100, a list of the most influential people in the world today.

I felt a little guilty when I found that I didn't know half of the people listed. But as I read I came across Yoani Sanchez, whose blog Generation Y is written daily from Internet cafes as Yoani poses as a tourist to keep herself out of trouble with the Cuban authorities. TIME calls her blog "fiesty" and "dedicated to the truth". Something greatly lacking in Cuba today.

It just makes me realize how much I take "freedom of speech" for granted. I hope you all check out her blog. Cuba isn't necessary on most people's minds these days with all Hilary vs. Obama drama and such. But it should be.
